Two weeks off and BAM! school = work work work. Wow, that made sense. In short, I'm being bombarded with work to do for school and it's killing me. Three tests a day and numerous quizzes for most of the week! I can't wait to get caught up, get in the normal ebb and flow, but it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon.
I hate history. Like, I really, really hate American history. Although I'm an American and proud of it, I am absolutely disgusted about many of the things we as Americans have done right from the initial getgo. Right now, we're studying the election of 1824, for instance. Andrew Jackson. I absolutely abhor Andy Jackson, because of his Indian Removal Act, which forced the Native Americans onto their various reservations. The act bestowed the government with the power to move the Indians anywhere they chose, seize all the riches and valubles this land provided, and switch territories at any time. Yeah, you people just LEFT England so you could be FREE and now you're doing the EXACT SAME THING. What.
I guess it's true: America is the best country ever stole. Natives out there, I love you and understand. If I decide to go to college in Arizona I'm going to spend a lot of time on Indian reservations. :D

September is almost ended, which means October is almost here, which means it's almost time for my favorite holiday in the universe: HALLOWEEN!!!
My family is huge on Halloween; we always go crazy, hosting this enormous party the Saturday before and creating elaborate costume themes. Each year I make my own costume. This year, I'm going as Naminé.
In addition to Halloween, Houston is hosting Oni-Con '08! Now that I can drive I'm hauling myself over there this year. I've never been to an anime convention and can't wait to go; we've assembled a big group to split costs and such, and I'm driving myself nuts making my costume. It should be a lot of fun.
OF COURSE, due to the hurricane, the con has been moved to December. But oh well... I have more time at least.
I love Halloween. It's the only good thing about the end of summer. I miss the 98 degree temperatures so much; being from Houston, I am freezing if the temp falls below 90 XD
More later. Ciao.

The basic idea for this fic actually came to me in a dream. One of the most vivid dreams I ever had, too... I hope I can accurately convey the fervor in words (yeah right). This is a Marluxia/Larxene fic. I love the pairing, and there's so much that can be done for them. Hope you enjoy!
ANYWAY, info:

My family is from New Orleans. We witnessed the devestation and horror that Katrina brought with it. But my siblings and myself have always lived in Houston, and never have we actually experienced the wrath of a true natural disaster such as Ike has brought to us.
The silver lining to all this is that it could have been much worse. Ike was a Category 2 hurricane, and so did much less damage than could've been; despite this, though, the city is losing control without power. Officials say it will be a month or so before power is restored to the whole of Houston; we have only just gotten ours back. The wreckage, as well, is terrible: trees have fallen onto streets, crashed into houses, destroyed property. Dead plants, trees and debris are everywhere! But worst of all, driving is an absolute nightmare because the blasted stop lights WON'T WORK. There have been so many cases of road rage it's not even funny. I'm glad it's over, and really glad that at least we can repair the damage, but it's still a horrable thing to happen.
In addition, HISD, my school district, has us marked for no school until Thursday at the earliest. I do NOT want to think about how much work they're going to make us do to make up for it. Weird as it sounds, I want to go back to school! >:O I miss people!
To all of you affected by Hurricane Ike, I hope you are all alright and well, and will have power and comfort soon if you lack it. We'll get through it sooner or later XD

Some of you may have heard about the great Hurricane Ike, a terrible storm that has scourged this great city. I've only just gotten power back. Our street is absolutely carpeted in fallen leaves and wood, and several houses have been destroyed. Trees lie in the streets; shards of glass are scattered from broken windows. We were lucky; our house received little damage.
My school is a different story. It is an old school, and not very strongly built. It has been completely flooded through and wrecked by trees and wind. I don't know how long I'll have to stay home, but I hope it's not long. I don't know what to do.
To anyone else affected by this horrid hurricane season, I hope you are all okay and can carry on soon. I hope no one is hurt; I hope your homes still provide sanctuary. I know what you're going through. I'll be right here.

Yep, that's what I thought.
I could rant for hours on end about the cast, the acting, every mediocre display of talent I've yet seen about this movie, and still it would not adequately manifest the way I feel towards it. Because the books aren't unbelievable enough. Now we are forced to anticipate such a cast as this?
I will say that the person playing James is extremely good looking, though. Can't act, but cute. Jacob's not bad either. XD
So being the movie buff that I am, my friend Sarah and myself are taking the liberty of writing our own Twilight cast listing. This post is for you to comment about what your perfect cast would be - and if you already love the official casting, just talk about the movie. What do you think of it? Good, bad, I want to know.
